Loop House

Identity

Arts venue / 2024 / Identity Sprint

The work

A closed loop that is also a room plan: enter, circle the work, leave with a card. No serif revival, no festival wreath.

Brief

The venue changes shows every three weeks. Volunteers print at a copy shop. The mark had to stay legal when faxed, taped, and taped again.

They did not want a season campaign. They wanted one identity that a new poster could sit on top of.

  • Audience and constraint

A volunteer-run arts room needed a mark that could survive photocopies, night posters, and a stubborn glass door.

  • Subject

    Arts venue

Idea

The loop is a plan of the room: door, wall, exit. It is drawn with a thick stroke so it survives a cheap copy.

Color is optional. The black print is the system. Accent ink is for the night poster only.

Applications

Door vinyl is the lockup at one height. Posters use a four-line type stack. The card is the loop at pocket size.
